Share your experience - contribute to the European Urology Video Journal

Thu, 17 Feb 2011

Today, the scientific know-how and research findings receive exposure in various dedicated publications and across the board of urology. Sharing experience and new approaches in urological surgery is more of a challenge, as often this knowledge is based on the skill and innovation, rather than research data.European Urology Video Journal offers a perfect platform for sharing this knowledge with a large international audience – as, indeed, one picture says more than a thousand words. This digital publication – currently in its 16th volume – offers a collection of surgical videos with detailed commentary from the operating surgeons. EUVJ covers a large spectrum of subjects – both in terms of urological subspecialisation, as well as applied technology.

The EUVJ is now entering a new era, with all of its videos being made available to the members online at the official website of the EAU. This initiative does not only offer immediate access to the EAU’s collection of surgical videos, but also brings about a new change – a more flexible submission of videos for publication.

All members of the EAU are encouraged to submit videos to be included on the EUVJ. In this way high-quality material can be widely diffused and become readily available to all EAU members.

Submission (preferably digital files):

1. Digital files (miniDV, DV, DVD, DVCAM, DVCPRO)2. Betacam Digital 83. MPEG2, MPEG4, Quicktime files

The material, 10-15 minutes in duration, should be submitted for consideration together with a short comment and a concise but detailed description of the technique, if applicable, accompanied by schematic drawings and the most important references. A portrait photograph of the main/submitting author is welcome. All material is to be sent to:
