The new course “Online prostate MRI-reading course for urologists” will provide you with vital information in prostate MRI reading and interpretation direct from field experts of the European School of Urology (ESU) and the EAU Section in Urological Imaging (ESUI).
The course will help you understand the role that MRI plays in the management of patients with prostate cancer and how to use the information generated by prostate MRI.
Expect to perform hands-on reading and assessment of prostate MRI scans on your computer via MIM-software followed by a reference reading provided by expert radiologists and pathological verification.
Aims and objectives
The course will cover the following:
- How to use an imaging workstation
- How to understand the basic concepts/principles behind different MRI sequences (e.g. T2-weighted imaging, DWI-imaging and DCE-imaging), in which order to view the different sequences when interpreting prostate MRI
- How to use the PI-RADS scoring system to score MRIs
- How to understand what are the standards for a prostate MRI and what quality criteria need to be fulfilled
