Call for Applications: Grant for research in renal transplantation

The EAU Section of Transplantation Urology (ESTU) is calling for applications for a €4,000 grant to support research and projects in the field of renal transplantation.

The aim of the EAU Section of Transplantation Urology (ESTU) is to bring senior experts in the field of renal transplantation and young urologists interested in this rewarding medical field in together. The ESTU believes that renal transplantation not only proves to be a rewarding and challenging task for urologists but that renal transplantation nowadays cannot be performed optimally without urologists.

With this call for applications, the ESTU aims to promote initiatives on clinical, basic and translational research in all fields of renal transplantation and to stimulate promising urologist to expand scientific research in this field.

Conditions for applicationTo be eligible for this application the first and last authors of the project must be active members of the EAU. The project must be completed within 12 months and the results are expected to be presented at the following ESTU/EAU meeting.

The projects will be evaluated by a jury composed of elements with recognized experience in the field of kidney transplantation and/or academic urology & research. The jury, composed by Enrique Lledo-Garcia, Arnaldo Figueiredo, Javier Burgos-Revilla, Kurt Dreikorn, Vicenzo Mirone, and Remigio Vela-Navarrete will assess each application based on the following criteria:

  • Originality (0-10)
  • Scientific relevance (0-10)
  • Adequacy of the project execution plan for the proposed objectives (0-5)
  • Quality and clarity of project presentation (0-5)
  • Feasibility of the project based on the budget and period of execution (0-5)
  • General classification (0-10)

The jury is sovereign, acting in full autonomy and may decide not to award the grant.

The deadline to sent in the application is 20th March 2017. All applications should be sent at the attention of the current Chairman of the ESTU board, prof. Enrique Lledo-Garcia via email to estu@uroweb.org.
