The fear of severe adverse events related to the fibrosis around the synthetic material has decreased or even banned their used in several countries. Single incision mini-slings show comparable efficacy to retropubic and transobturator mid-urethral slings. However, the amount of synthetic material in single incision mini-slings is much less. The e-course wants to present the most recent comparative trials between the two classes of slings and the long-term efficacy data of single incision mini-slings. The consequences for urological practice will be analysed.
