The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including uro-oncology, stones, male infertility, and paediatric urology which are some of my favourites. Expert-led lectures were followed by discussions that clarified complex cases, offering evidence-based recommendations essential for clinical practice.
A major highlight for me was the Hands-on Training (HOT) and the session I enjoyed the most was on sacral neuromodulation. Prior to EUREP, I had struggled to understand the technique. However, after the HOT, I fully grasped both the procedure and how it works. The practical experience significantly boosted my confidence and skills in performing this emerging procedure.
One of the key takeaways from EUREP24 that will benefit my practice back home is the updated management of uro-oncology cases, particularly prostate cancer. Despite the advancements in minimally invasive techniques and personalised treatment strategies, I do now understand how important active surveillance is in prostate cancer.
Networking was another important aspect of EUREP24. The programme attracted residents and young urologists from across the globe, providing a platform for exchanging ideas and learning from peers facing similar challenges in different healthcare systems. These interactions fostered a sense of global collaboration and enriched my experience.
The host city, Prague, is renowned for its beauty and rich cultural heritage and added to the programme’s appeal. Exploring the city’s historic landmarks and experiencing its vibrant culture during my free time enhanced the overall experience.
