Female and functional urology: theory, practice and innovation

Fri, 2 Sep 2011

This autumn offers an all-round scientific and educational programme for medical specialists practising in the field of female functional and reconstructive urology.1st ESFFU-ESGURSOn 6-8 October, the first joint meeting of the EAU Section of Female and Functional Urology (ESFFU) and the EAU Section of Genito-Urinary Surgeons (ESGURS) will take place, covering the latest trends in the field, discussing cutting-edge technology and looking to the opportunities of the future.

The meeting is accredited with 15 CME points.

The 1st joint ESFFU-ESGURS meeting will take place in Tübingen, Germany. The meeting`s scientific programme includes 27 live surgeries and a wide portfolio of interactive case-discussions. Add to this a visit to the KARL STORZ endoscope factory, and you have a recipe for a well-rounded and exciting event!

“Ample time and opportunity will be reserved for discussion, exchange of thoughts, experience and ideas,” said the organisers. “We believe that this format will provide those who are at the early stages of their sub-specialty career, with a comprehensive “package” of tips and tricks from the experts.”

4th ESU MasterclassThis top scientific event will be followed by an engaging ESU Masterclass on female and functional reconstructive urology, which will be held on 11-13 November, for the fourth time since it was launched in 2008. This masterclass is an excellent small-scale training course, which is geared to be highly interactive and has been tailored to address the most common issues of every-day urology practice.

The 4th ESU Masterclass will take place in Berlin, Germany. The beautiful Kempinski Hotel Bristol Berlin will provide an inspiring setting for the three days of intensive work.

Aside from a comprehensive educational opportunity, this event also serves as a base for selecting candidates interested in anobserverhip position (http://esuberlin2011.uroweb.org/observership/) with one of the leading European centres specialising in female and functional reconstructive urology.

“Some female reconstructive urology procedures are so demanding that these are only performed in centres where the expertise and knowledge have accumulated and are well-developed,” explained the organising committee. “We believe that by means of this observership programme we encourage many motivated urologists to break through to the next level.”

The masterclass is accredited with CME points.

These two meetings in combination offer a comprehensive overview of female and functional reconstructive urology - from the very best in urology research to the most hands-on professional development.
