Impact Factor for European Urology now exceeds 10

European Urology, the EAU’s scientific journal is the number 1 Impact Factor in Urology and Nephrology category according to ISI Thompson Journal Citation Reports®. It has recently achieved an impact factor of 10.476 placing it above all other urological and nephrology journals and surpassing last year's impact factor of 8.493.

The impact factor is a measure of the citation rate per article and is calculated by dividing one year's worth of citations to a journal's articles published in the previous two years by the number of articles published by that journal in those two years. It is an indication of the journal’s reach, influence and authority. Between 2008 and 2012, the impact factor has increased from 5.634 to 10.476.

The EAU is proud to announce this milestone just as European Urology enters a period of change. It was announced earlier this year that Mr. James Catto (GB) will be taking over from Prof. Montorsi (IT) as Editor-in-Chief at the end of this year. Montorsi has held this position since 2006.
