Nearly 1,175 abstracts in poster and video sessions
A total of 93 poster sessions will be held during the five-day 27th Annual EAU Congress, with 1,173 abstracts accepted for presentations in Paris following a rigid screening conducted by reviewers in December. The figure is slightly higher than last year in Vienna where 92 poster sessions were held with a total of 1,111 presented abstracts. As in 2010, eight video sessions will be held in Paris where 51 videos would be presented and discussed.
This year the most examined subjects were the management of non-metastatic prostate cancer, basic research on urothelial tumours and renal cell carcinoma, among others. A total of 3,303 abstracts were submitted for the 27th Annual EAU Congress including 181 video abstracts. Compared to the 34.1% acceptance rate in Vienna, around 35.5% of all submissions made it to the reviewers’ final selection.
As in previous congresses, 12 prizes will be given to the best abstracts in oncology, non-oncology, abstracts submitted by residents and for the three best video abstracts.
