Business Controller | 32-36 hours
Are you enthusiastic about numbers and energised by turning financial data into clear, visual insights? Do you have experience developing and working within a Microsoft Power BI environment? If so, this Business Controller role at the European Association of Urology (EAU) may be the perfect opportunity for you.
What will you do?
In this role, you will work across a broad range of activities and projects, supporting various departments involved in organising meetings, congresses and other events for the EAU. Together with our Project Controller, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining a reliable financial administration, producing project and management reports, and further developing our Power BI environment. This environment ensures that up-to-date financial information is readily available, transparent and directly linked to our strategy and organisational objectives. You will translate financial data into clear analyses and presentations and advise management on complex financial matters. In addition, you will support the preparation of grant applications.
As this is a newly created role, you will have considerable scope to further develop and improve processes alongside the Project Controller, under the guidance of the Executive Management Team and the Manager Finance & Control.
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Contributing to the preparation of annual reports;
- Producing periodic and ad hoc financial and management reports;
- Preparing budgets, forecasts and performance analyses;
- Conducting impact and risk assessments;
- Identifying inefficiencies and advising project teams and departments on improvements;
- Monitoring invoicing processes and ensuring payment deadlines are met.
What do you bring?
- Extensive experience as a Business Controller or Project Controller;
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or a related field;
- Experience with AFAS and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Experience with and enthusiasm for developing Power BI reports and dashboards;
- Residence within commuting distance of Arnhem;
- Excellent written and spoken English and Dutch;
- An accurate, proactive and entrepreneurial approach to work;
- Strong analytical skills and an innovative mindset;
- The ability to collaborate effectively within an international environment;
- The confidence to act as a credible and equal business partner to management and stakeholders;
- An approachable personality combined with a high level of integrity.
