This e-course complements technical robotic surgery training by introducing the principles of Human Factors and Non-Technical Skills (NTS) required for safe, effective, and coordinated robot-assisted surgery. It focuses on communication, teamwork, leadership, decision-making, situational awareness, crisis management and patient safety within the multidisciplinary robotic operating room.

Learning objectives
- Describe the principles of Human Factors and Non-Technical Skills in robot-assisted surgery.
- Recognise how communication, teamwork, leadership, and situational awareness contribute to patient safety.
- Explain how human factors, ergonomics, and workflow influence performance in the robotic operating room.
- Apply structured communication and safety strategies, including closed-loop communication, SBAR, briefings, Time-Outs, and checklists.
