4th Basis Urology organized by the ESUT, EULIS and YAU. The aim is to encourage residents and young urologists into new technologies, academics, research and collaboration.
En-bloc Resection of Bladder Tumor (ERBT) in NMIBC can better remove the tumor in one piece, potentially minimising the recurrence rate, and providing more accurate histopathological staging and consequently risk stratification. However, no studies till now investigated how ERBT could impact on improving pathologists' clinical practice.
What do we know about the possibility of obtaining a more accurate T1 substaging pathology evaluation? The 3cm rule is still considered the cut-off to perform ERBT, what about larger tumors? Does ERBT remain a suitable technique? Further randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm the results. In this recording, members of the ESUT ERBT Study Group discuss the surgical aspect of ERBT, paying attention to the current clinical practice but also to new technologies.
