The International Urogynecological Association (IUGA) will host the 1st Virtual Surgical Masterclass: From Good to Great on March 13–14, 2026. This new online programme builds on the successful in-person Surgical Masterclass in Barcelona and offers focused training in reconstructive vaginal surgery and related procedures.
Key topics include complex prolapse repair, management of chronic perineal trauma, stress incontinence surgery without mesh, recurrent prolapse after sacral colpopexy, and complication management following continence and mesh procedures. Sessions will combine expert presentations with opportunities for discussion and questions.
The two-day format features 4-hour sessions each day to enable participation across time zones. The programme is developed by the IUGA Surgical Committee, co-chaired by Catherine Matthews and Mark Walters, and includes contributions from over 15 international experts. Drawing on extensive experience in surgery and surgical education, the Masterclass offers practical, evidence-based insights for advancing urogynecological surgical practice.
