This intensive two-day course provides advanced robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) training for ST7–8 trainees, post-CCT surgeons and consultants.
Led by Prof Justin Collins and Mr Ashwin Sridhar, the programme combines structured pre-course learning with practical robotic surgical training and objective metrics-based assessment.
Course focus
Participants will receive training in:
- Nine types of robotic dissection technique
- Bimanual suturing and knot-tying
- Vesico-urethral anastomosis (VUA)
- Hands-on training using hydrogel models
- Metrics-based objective assessment throughout the course
- Pre-course learning via the ORDNA platform, including video review of key tasks and anatomical landmarks
The course is designed to provide structured, objective and practical training in the core technical skills required for robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy.
Course Directors:
Prof Justin Collins – Honorary Associate Professor, UCL; Urological Surgeon, UCLH; pioneer of metrics-based robotic surgical training curricula
