This intensive two-day course is designed to give surgeons a comprehensive didactic and hands-on cadaveric training experience. Led by a faculty of experienced surgeons, the programme combines lectures, debate and open exchange with practical, hands-on experience performing procedures on the da Vinci Robot.
Course objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the function and operation of the da Vinci® Surgical System, including its ergonomics and the available robotic instrumentation
- Apply robotic tissue dissection techniques using monopolar, bipolar, harmonic and plasma kinetic energy
- Understand the selection process for patient positioning, da Vinci surgical team positioning and robotic surgical approaches
