Recording: Follow-up in NMIBC: Room for de-intensification?

This recording is the latest edition from the successful series “Everything you always wanted to know about TURBT but were afraid to ask”.

In part 3 of the series, which will cover the follow-up of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), the experts will discuss frequent cystoscopies. These procedures can be invasive, miss recurrences, and represent a healthcare burden.

Urine markers have long been investigated in the hope of identifying reliable, less invasive alternatives to reduce the need for frequent cystoscopies.  At present, the advent of promising new genetic markers can pave the way for a shift in diagnostic approaches. At the same time, optical enhancement techniques, including photodynamic diagnosis (PDD), may play a role to complement urinary markers, particularly in high-risk tumours.

The recording will address all these aspects, with the final focus placed on the patients’ point of view.
