The management of Male Genital trauma

Trauma to the male genitals is rare. However, 33 to 66% of urological injuries involve the external genitalia.

While uncommon, genital injuries can result in significant long-term morbidity, infertility, hormonal dysfunction, erectile dysfunction, urethral stricture, and psychological distress. Therefore, it is essential to manage these injuries appropriately.

Knowing the diagnostic and therapeutic algorithm to make informed decisions based on scientific evidence can help reduce the impact of these injuries on the quality of life of patients, as well as, minimise and prevent complications.
