UROwebinar: Update in UTI diagnosis: Is rapid microbiological analysis feasible?
This UROwebinar by the European School of Urology and the EAU Section of Infections in Urology will explore how rapid microbiological diagnosis and resistance testing can enable faster, more targeted management of urinary tract infections (UTIs) while reducing unnecessary antibiotic use.

UTIs are among the most prevalent bacterial infections worldwide, with E. coli as the leading pathogen. Conventional diagnostic methods, such as urine culture and antimicrobial susceptibility testing, require 48 to 72 hours. This often delays targeted therapy and promoting empirical antibiotic use, thereby exacerbating antimicrobial resistance.
The diagnosis based on questionnaires, rapid microbiological confirmation and resistance may improve current proper management.
