In order to produce evidence-based high-quality guidelines it is necessary to have stringent methodological and procedural practices in place to support Guidelines Panels in their work, whilst also ensuring quality control indicators are meet.

The resources available on this page are to assist those using and/or evaluating the EAU Guidelines in making informed decisions regarding the quality of their content and to provide transparency regarding the development and production procedures upon which they are based.

EAU Guidelines Strategy 2022 to 2027

The EAU Guidelines Office strategic plan is designed to ensure the EAU produces the most methodologically rigorous and clinically relevant guidelines for use by all relevant stakeholders. This strategic plan sets out an ambitious vision for the future under four overarching stragic goals. These will ensure that the EAU Guidelines support innovation in guidelines development to improve the health and wellbeing of urology patients.

EAU Guidelines Development Handbook

The purpose of this handbook is to provide advice on developing an EAU guideline and the methods used. It aims to provide a clear path through the process and seeks to ensure that the resulting guidelines have credibility and meet the EAU’s criteria for content, methods and presentation.

EAU Guidelines Systematic Review Handbook

The purpose of this handbook is to provide advice on the methods and processes to be implemented when producing a systematic review for the EAU Guidelines Office.

EAU Guidelines Patient Representative Handbook

The purpose of this handbook is to provide patient representatives advice on developing an EAU guideline and the methods used. It aims to provide a clear path through the process and seeks to ensure that patients are fully informed of the guidelines processes ensuring their active participation.

EAU Guidelines Conflict of Interest Policy

The aim of the EAU Guidelines COI Policy is to protect the integrity and credibility of all activities related to the production of the EAU’s Guidelines. Its purpose is to safeguard public trust and confidence in the EAU Guidelines Office, their output, and all those involved in the development and promotion of their Guidelines and any related resources.
