Call for Applications: Editor-in-Chief, European Urology

The EAU is calling for applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief for its flagship scientific journal, European Urology. Highly-experienced and motivated candidates from the EAU membership can apply to the EAU's Executive Committee before October 15th, with the successful candidate to be announced at EAU23 in Milan.

European Urology has been published continuously since 1975 and is the official journal of the European Association of Urology (EAU). European Urology has a current impact factor of 24.267 and is the leading journal in the field of Urology. The European Urology family of journals is published by Elsevier, and consists of European Urology, European Urology Focus, European Urology Oncology and European Urology Open Science. European Urology is the flagship journal of the EU family.

The Editor-in-Chief oversees the day-to-day running of European Urology, builds the editorial team for this journal and sets editorial standards for the EU family. He or she is ultimately responsible for content published in the journal and can set the agenda within the field. The post involves daily contact with the editorial management team and the successful applicant needs to have clear vision about the future of journal and be an excellent communicator.

The position is currently held by Prof. James Catto (Sheffield, GB), who has led European Urology and overseen the development of the EU Family since 2013. After a selection process in the coming months, the new editor will be announced at EAU23 in Milan in March. The new editor then starts work in June 2023, together with Prof. Catto until his retirement at the end of 2023.
