Call for Applications: Three new leadership openings within the EAU Executive
As the European Association of Urology continues the implementation of its 2030 Strategy, the organisation is taking the next step in strengthening its leadership structure to support future growth, innovation and collaboration across all areas of activity.
Over the past years, the EAU has expanded significantly in size, scope, and impact. To ensure that its governance and leadership structure remains aligned with these ambitions, the Executive Committee will be expanded from three to five members at the EAU General Assembly on March 20th 2027. This development reflects the increasing breadth of the EAU's scientific, educational and research activities and will help ensure strong strategic leadership, greater cross-office collaboration and a sustainable succession pipeline for the future.
The EAU Search & Nomination Committee (SNC) is therefore inviting applications for three Executive Committee positions:
- Secretary General Elect
The Secretary General Elect will be part of the Executive Committee and contribute to the strategic leadership and governance of the Association. Following election at EAU27, the successful candidate will automatically succeed the Secretary General at the 2028 General Assembly. - Adjunct Secretary General – Education & Career Development
This position will provide strategic leadership across the EAU's educational portfolio and support the continued development of educational pathways throughout the professional careers of urologists and allied healthcare professionals. - Adjunct Secretary General – Applied Health Research & Evidence Generation
This position will help shape the EAU's research agenda and strengthen alignment across scientific research, evidence generation, innovation, and external collaboration.
Who should apply?
Applicants should hold an EAU Active Membership status and be a recognised leader within the urological community who has demonstrated commitment to the EAU through previous service in an EAU Office, Section, committee, board, or other leadership capacity.
Candidates should have relevant governance or board-level experience and a clear vision for how the EAU can continue to evolve and strengthen its impact in the years ahead. As part of the application process, candidates will be invited to outline how they would contribute to the successful delivery of the EAU 2030 Strategy from the perspective of their respective role.
Application Process
Applications are now open and must be submitted to the EAU Search & Nomination Committee no later than 1 November 2026. Following review and interviews, the SNC will nominate candidates for election by eligible EAU members during the General Assembly at EAU27 in Amsterdam.
