Romania took the top prizes at the recently concluded 16th Central European Meeting (CEM16) with studies in prostate and renal cancers that impressed jurors with their innovative approaches and fresh perspectives.

“The point differences among the top winners were so close and the quality of work were really impressive. We not only congratulate the hard work involved in these studies but also took note of the dynamic research gains posted in the region,” said CEM16 chairman Dr. Michael Rauchenwald and Profs. Bob Djavan and Michiel Sedelaar during CEM16's closing session. Held in Vienna, the two-day event gathered around 200 participants.
