EAU23 has started!
The EAU’s 38th Annual Congress starts today in Milan, Italy. Over the next four days, over 9000 participants are expected to attend the 270 sessions.
The EAU23 scientific programme will feature around 950 speakers from all around the world and the congress is one of the largest urology events worldwide every year.
This 2023 edition is also notable in many ways: it is the first in-person springtime Annual Congress since EAU19 in Barcelona, a welcome return to routine for the Association and Europe’s urologists. Also, this marks the end of the second term of our Secretary General, Prof. Chris Chapple. He will be succeeded by Prof. Arnulf Stenzl at this year’s General Assembly. The congress features a lot more patient involvement than prior editions, as well as special sessions for young urologists and the simultaneously held Urology Nurses’ meeting, EAUN23.
Delegates can expect Plenary and Thematic sessions, abstract sessions, live surgery, courses by the European School of Urology, opportunities for hands-on training and an impressive Exhibition where companies can showcase their latest products.
EAU23 marks the end of the EAU’s 50th anniversary celebrations, which started in Amsterdam with EAU22. The International Congress on the History of Urology takes place in Milan on March 10th to examine the major developments in the field over the past half-century and to hear from some of the people who contributed so much to urology and the EAU. The event is free to attend for all EAU23 delegates.
