Annual EAU CongressEAU 26

A special celebrity guest

A conversation with the brilliantly witty Stephen Fry, renowned British writer, broadcaster and actor. His talk, ‘Gods, genitals and the burden of being human: An essential mythological companion for urologists’, takes place on Friday 13 March from 12:25 – 12:55, and promises insight, humour and a refreshing human perspective.

The very latest research

As well as ‘Game-changing sessions’ throughout the congress, a key highlight is the ‘Late-breaking abstracts session’ on Friday, 13 March (13:00 – 15:00). This session will showcase the very latest research in prostate cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment planning, radical prostatectomy and focal therapy, NMIBC and penile cancer, as well as peri-operative management and kidney transplantation.

Live podcasting entertainment

For the first-time ever, live podcasting also takes centre stage at the Annual Congress. On Saturday 14 March (17:15 - 18:00), the ‘Live podcasting session: Challenge the UROmigos’ brings live podcast recording to the congress floor. Hosts, Prof. Brian Rini (US) and Prof. Tom Powles (GB) lead lively debates on the latest advances in bladder and kidney cancer, in which they will challenge each other and the audience.

The second live podcasting session will take place on Sunday 15 March (17:15 – 18:00), ‘From studio to stage: GU Cast LIVE at EAU’ with Prof. Declan Murphy (AU) and Dr. Renu Eapen (AU). This high-energy session is packed with controversial topics, behind the scenes stories, and GU Cast’s trademark humour.

What’s on at the EAU Square?

At the heart of the congress is the EAU Square, a lively hub for networking, learning and latest EAU merch. You can take part in the UROlympics or step into the simulation-based virtual OR. Join informal discussions at the EAU Theatre, hosted by the EAU Policy Office and UroEvidenceHub, or enter the ‘scavenger hunt’ at the Historical Exhibition. Grab a free barista coffee on your way to view your personalised ‘EAU Wrapped’. Update your MyEAU profile photo at the professional photography booth and pick up your free copy of the new 2026 EAU Pocket Guidelines. You can also collect one of five beautifully illustrated books on the history of urology (free while stocks last).

Set your alarm early: #EAU26 Prostate Cancer Run

In partnership with Europa Uomo and Bayer, you can lace up your shoes and join us in a refreshing start to the day with a 4km run along the River Thames beside Excel, on Saturday 14 March at 07:00am.  Whether you are a urologist, nurse, industry representative, or simply keen to support progress in prostate cancer care, everyone is welcome.

London after hours

After a full day of urology updates, London offers the perfect setting to recharge your batteries in the evenings.

Urology meets espresso!

For a cafe stop with undeniable urological flair, visit the Attendant Coffee Roasters, a former Victorian men’s public toilet build around 1890. The original Doulton & Co porcelain urinals remain - a true sip of urology history!

The Shard – tall and slender, like a stent?

Cruise the Thames River by boat to enjoy illuminated historical landmarks such as Tower Bridge, the Houses of Parliament, and Big Ben, or take in panoramic city views from the Shard, the tallest building in Western Europe.  Perhaps an imaginative urologist might even see the skyline with a playful urology twist: could the Gherkin and the Shard resemble familiar anatomy?

Arts and culture are a must in London. The West End offers world-class theatre and musicals, or you could try some British stand-up comedy is Covent Garden. There are also plenty of rooftop bars and restaurants, or late-night dining in SoHo and Chinatown - perfect for informal networking or unwinding with colleagues.

If you are a museum or art gallery enthusiast, some venues host late night events, where you can explore exhibitions after hours. You can find more London visitors information here.

Getting around London is easy and sustainable. You can take the Tube, the DLR overland or even glide across the Thames River by cable car from Excel to Greenwich. See London Transport.

EAU26 offers the perfect opportunity to experience cutting-edge science by day and unforgettable London adventures by night, leaving you feeling professionally inspired and personally energised. See you at EAU26 in London from 13 - 16 March, 2026!
