The 7th SEEM: unique opportunities, narrow focus
This year’s South Eastern European Meeting takes place in Macedonia’s capital, Skopje. On 14 and 15 October, the region’s urologists will convene to exchange information, present their findings and to strengthen regional ties. The city is centrally located in the region, and easily accessible. The meeting is chaired by Prof. Zhivko Popov of the Clinical Center Skopje.Prof. Michael Marberger, Chairman of the EAU Regional Office, explains the special niche a South Eastern European Meeting fills: “The region is unique. It stretches from Serbia in the West to Turkey, the Black Sea region and the Eastern Mediterranean in the East. It is multiethnic and multicultural. With a traumatising recent history.”
“Previous meetings however, have shown that urology faces the same challenges throughout the region, and that the urologists there enthusiastically accept the possibility of exchanging information and networking on a regional basis, under the umbrella of the EAU.”
The meetings afford regional urologists, and particularly young urologists, to gain experience in taking part in international meetings and presenting their work in English. This experience is a good steppingstone for participation in the Annual EAU Congress.
Abstract submission for the meeting closes on 1 July 2011.
The 7th SEEM consists of three plenary sessions, nine poster sessions, two state-of-the-art lectures and two panel sessions over two days. The three plenary sessions will cover hot issues in prostate cancer, renal cell cancer and andrology, respectively. Chairs, panel members and presenters will also come from beyond the region, adding another international edge to the event.
The early registration for the 7th SEEM closes on September 16th, 2011. Online registration will close on 17 October 2011. After this date, registrations can be made on-site at the congress venue on Friday 14 October, 07.00 – 09.00To submit your abstract or for more information, please visit the official website of the meeting.Visit SEEM website >
