Top robotic surgery specialists meet in London, September 26-28
For the first time, the EAU Robotic Urology Section Congress (ERUS) will be held in London from September 26 to 28, 2012. Amidst a very busy Olympic summer in the UK’s capital as backdrop, ERUS will organise this exciting and high-quality event that not only educates the urological community in robotic surgical techniques but also aims to improve patient care.
With the modern facilities of the new Park Plaza Westminster Bridge located in the heart of London, key opinion leaders in robotic surgery have been invited to gather and present the latest updates and discuss current issues in minimally invasive surgery.
The meeting will feature live surgical demonstrations in high definition and 3D, and to be presented by some of the world’s eminent robotic surgeons. In addition, state-of-the-art lectures will complement the surgery sessions, and with the interactive moderation the audience can expect lively discussions. New medical equipment and devices from leading manufacturers will be exhibited- many for the first time- or their use demonstrated during surgery.
Organisers are planning to hold 12 live operations during the three-day event with direct broadcasts facilitated by dedicated satellite links. Among the activities on the opening day is a meeting of associate junior ERUS members and courses on individual robotic procedures. The ERUS is also organising, for the first time, a dedicated nursing and surgical assistant course which will cover aspects of peri-operative robotic surgery.
The courses include:
- Advanced course in da Vinci Prostatectomy
- Advanced course in da Vinci Partial Nephrectomy
- Advanced course in da Vinci Cystectomy & diversion
- How to improve the quality of reports of research in robotic urology : the search for evidence
- Advanced course in da Vinci Reconstructive surgery
Reduced registration rates are offered until 31 July 2012. A wonderful social programme is also being organised including a boat trip down the Thames to the majestic surroundings of the Painted Hall at the Royal Naval College in Greenwich.
It is our pleasure to welcome you to London this September!
