Urology Week 2026 – Break the silence around kidney cancer
The European Association of Urology is hosting Urology Week from 28 September – 2 October 2026 and this year we focus on one of the less talked-about cancers, Kidney cancer.
Although Kidney cancer might be known as the silent cancer, it can have serious consequences. It often develops without obvious symptoms, and as a consequence diagnosis an advanced stage. This limits the treatment options and survival rates significantly. As the global population continues to age, the burden of kidney cancer is expected to grow.
By raising awareness of the possible signs and symptoms and understanding risk factors, this year’s Urology Week aims to turn the tide and encourage the general audience to take an active role in protecting their kidney health and to learn more about the disease that too often goes unnoticed.
Kidney Cancer is hiding in plain sight. The signs are easy to miss but spotting them early can make a difference. Talk to a urologist to get informed and know what to do next.
How can you participate in this campaign?
We welcome our global community to contribute to Urology Week 2026! Whether you represent a national society, patient organisation, hospital, university, or support a relative with kidney cancer, everyone can help increase awareness around the disease!
- Translated poster: The 2026 awareness posters are available on the Urology Week website. You can either download the English version or send us your translation, and we will create a poster in your own language.
- Event: You could host an event focusing on kidney cancer in your clinical practice and have it registered to be included in the Events overview.
- Share experience: Doctors and patients are invited to submit a short article on their experience with kidney cancer. We may place these stories on the official Urology Week website: urologyweek.org.
- Social media: Support Urology Week on social media by creating your own posts with your team. The funniest or most impactful ones might go viral after being reposted by the EAU. Or you can just share our EAU posts using #urologyweek and help increase awareness of kidney cancer in your community.
