YAU Working Group Urotechnology & Digital Health

The YAU Urotechnology and Digital Health Group of the European Association of Urology focuses on the development, evaluation, and implementation of emerging digital technologies in urology. The group aims to explore how technological innovation can improve clinical decision-making, surgical planning, and patient outcomes across the entire urological care pathway.

Area of Interest

A major area of interest is the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in urology, ranging from imaging analysis and diagnostic support (e.g., MRI interpretation and radiomics) to AI-assisted surgical planning, intraoperative guidance, and outcome prediction. The group is also actively involved in research on three-dimensional (3D) modeling, virtual planning, and augmented reality (AR) technologies to enhance surgical education, preoperative planning, and intraoperative navigation.

Projects

Current projects include multicenter collaborations aimed at evaluating AI tools, digital therapeutics, and data-driven predictive models in urological diseases. In addition, the group investigates the integration of digital platforms and data infrastructures to support research and innovation.

Historically, the group has also played a significant role in studying the impact of social media in urology, analyzing how digital platforms contribute to knowledge dissemination, scientific communication, and professional networkingwithin the global urological community.
