This UROwebinar introduces the rationale behind the new patient educational programme on urodynamics created by the EAU Patient Office and EAU Section of Functional Urology.
Urodynamics is often poorly understood by patients, which contributes to anticipatory anxiety about the experience and misconceptions about its purpose. Current patient-facing educational resources on this topic (e.g., YouTube videos) have a number of shortcomings in terms of quality, accuracy, sensitivity and relatability.
To address this unmet need, the EAU Patient Office and EAU Section of Functional Urology formed a partnership to create a definitive new patient educational programme on urodynamics. The project has received official backing from other leading societies, including ICS, INUS and EUGA, and features experts from a range of countries across Europe and North America.
This UROwebinar will explain the programme’s approach, structure and modular components, showcases clips from live action filming and animation and describes the plan for piloting, launch, translations and global accessibility.
