The European Association of Urology (EAU) is now accepting applications for the EAU-KUA International Academic Exchange Programme. Two promising young urologists will have the opportunity to visit South Korea for an unforgettable two-week educational and cultural exchange.

EAU-KUA International Academic Exchange Programme
The European Association of Urology (EAU) and the Korean Urological Association (KUA) have once again partnered to foster international collaboration in urology. Applications are now open for the 2025 edition of the EAU-KUA International Exchange Programme.
Since its inception, the EAU-KUA International Academic Exchange Programme has provided a unique opportunity for rising European urologists to experience Korean urology firsthand. Through close collaboration with the KUA, the programme fosters international connections, the exchange of surgical techniques and research insights, and deep cultural understanding.
This exchange will offer two EAU members the opportunity to travel to South Korea to observe clinical practice, engage with peers, and attend the 77th Annual KUA Meeting in Seoul. The programme runs from 15–24 October 2025, with visits to leading urological centres in Seoul from 15–21 October, followed by participation in the annual KUA Meeting from 22–24 October.
About the programme
The EAU-KUA International Exchange Programme aims to promote the global exchange of urological knowledge and practice. The exchange is reciprocal: one year, European urologists travel to Korea, and the next, Korean participants travel to Europe, including attending the EAU Annual Congress.
The tour includes hospital visits, operating theatre observations, scientific exchanges, and social and cultural immersion. Designed to enrich the participants’ medical knowledge and expand their professional networks.
In 2023, Dr. Laura Mertens (NL) and Dr. Su Jung OH (DE) took part in the EAU-KUA Academic Exchange Programme. Reflecting on their experience, they shared the following:
This EAU-KUA Academic Exchange Programme gave us a transformative experience which provided profound insights into the world of Korean urology through surgical observations, scientific engagements, cultural immersion, exposure to warm Korean hospitality, and invaluable networking opportunities
