EAU Andrology Section expands its footprint at CISE 2025 in Vietnam
The 21st edition of the Connecting International Surgical Experts Congress (CISE 2025) took place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on April 4 – 5 and reaffirmed its position as a significant platform for regional and global collaboration. Hosted biennially by the Binh Dan Hospital, the congress has gained international recognition for its high level of scientific content and dynamic academic exchange.
Under the leadership of Profs. Tran Vinh Hung (Medical Director), Nguyen Cam Phuc Hoang (Vice Medical Director), and Mai Ba Tien Dung (Head of Andrology), Binh Dan Hospital continues to spearhead Vietnam’s surgical and urological advancements. Their consistent efforts have transformed the CISE Congress into a landmark event, with over 30 international speakers from across Asia, Europe, Australia, and North America.
The congress highlights the strong institutional support behind CISE, with contributions from the Vietnamese government, hospital budgets, and national pharmaceutical companies. The commitment to education is evident in the diverse national attendance: urologists from Hanoi to Can Tho converged in Ho Chi Minh City, eager to absorb the latest innovations and best practices.
The 2025 congress featured a strong presence from the EAU, particularly the Section of Andrological Urology. Building on our initial participation in 2023, this year several EAU-affiliated experts participated as invited speakers. I had the honour of representing the Section of Andrology alongside esteemed colleagues, delivering lectures and live surgeries that showcased the latest in European andrological practice and research.
A particularly noteworthy aspect of our involvement was the support and recognition extended from Vietnamese diplomatic representatives of Greece and the Philippines, who proactively engaged with our Section. They emphasised the significance of the CISE congress as a national priority for medical education. Their invitation to discuss academic collaboration reflected the high esteem in which the EAU is held in Vietnam.
As Chair of the EAU Andrology Section, I am grateful for the diplomatic and institutional appreciation we received, including during formal events hosted in our honour. These gestures reaffirm our commitment to collaboration and the essential role of andrological education at international surgical congresses.
The success of CISE 2025 reflected not only the strength of Vietnamese urology but also the growing influence of European expertise in international urological education. Looking ahead, our Section remains committed to advancing andrological research and clinical practice in Vietnam and across the broader region.
