Over the past few weeks, the EAU’s Scientific Congress Office under Prof. Albers has been developing an all-online edition of the Annual EAU Congress. Many of the state-of-the-art lectures, case discussions and surgery sessions will be now be taking place during EAU20 Virtual, an intense three-day programme on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 17-19 July.

With the amount of research submitted (and accepted!) for EAU20, it was decided that the virtual congress would be followed by the EAU20 Theme Week. In this series of seven evening sessions the best abstracts are presented and discussed, with each day covering a different topic. On Monday through Sunday, 20-26 July, virtual delegates can expect presentations on the latest research related to: Andrology, Imaging, Functional Urology, Bladder Cancer, Renal Cancer, Prostate Cancer and finally Urinary Stones. Each evening session will take place from 17:00 to 20:00 CET.

  • The EAU20 Virtual Congress Scientific Programme is now online for all days and is continually updated.

The Scientific Congress Office has designed the Theme Week to broaden the scientific programme of the EAU20 Virtual Congress and let delegates easily make a selection of their preferred topics. Combined with the soon-to-be-announced selection of UROwebinars by the European School of Urology, the Annual EAU Congress experience will be replicated as a not-to-be-missed multiday online event.

Theme Week days start with a poster session, featuring ten two-minute presentations and discussion. Virtual delegates can submit questions via the live chatbox, which will be reviewed by the moderators. Presenters will pre-record their presentations but the SCO is inviting them to join the live discussion and answer any questions from the moderators on behalf of the audience. The abstracts were specifically selected by the SCO for their quality and relevance. The Theme Week is, in a sense, a digital continuation of the popular expert-guided Poster Tours that were a feature of recent Annual Congresses.

Following each Poster Session, there will be an industry session with keynote speakers on products related to each theme. Each day ends with a half-hour video session consisting of two eight-minute video presentations and discussion.

  • Registration is now open for the EAU20 Virtual Congress and Theme Week. New registrations are available for €89, including free attendance to the Virtual Congress, Theme Week and three years of access to the EAU20 Resource Centre. Active EAU Members and delegates who previously registered have free access to these events and do not need to register again. They will be contacted with instructions for logging in.
