EMUC26 - Highlights from Day 1
EMUC26 has officially launched today with a record-breaking number of delegates joining us in Brussels! The congress kicked off with the EAU Imaging Section plenary session, setting the stage for a day filled with innovation and collaboration. The programme delivered valuable insights into the future of multidisciplinary cancer care. Read on for imaging and pathology session reports, exclusive EMUCTV interviews, and 'must-view' webcasts.

Report - The evolving role of AI
“AI will enhance the efficiency of clinicians rather than replace them” was one of the overarching messages of Plenary Session 3 “The evolving role of artificial intelligence (AI)” of the EAU Section of Urological Imaging programme chaired by urologists Dr. Enrico Checcucci (IT) and Dr. Javier Perez Ardavin (ES). Does AI-assisted cystoscopy show promise for detecting small lesions that might otherwise be missed? What are the 4 areas for AI in renal-mass characterisation? These and more were explored in the session.
New and exclusive: EMUCTV daily interviews
In these EMUCTV episodes, Dr. Jennifer Le Guévelou (FR) interviews Prof. Veeru Kasivisvanathan (GB) on the results of the PRIMARY 2 trial; Assoc. Prof. Carlotta Palumbo (IT) interviews Prof. Tze Min Wah (GB) on histotripsy for kidney cancer treatments; and Dr. Peter Boström (FI) discusses the FinnBladder 9 trial.
Must-view 'webcasts of the day'
Imaging Plenary Session 1 - Prostate MRI practice-changing trials - Discussion: MRI from diagnostic to follow up. By: F. Sanguedolce, Barcelona (ES)
Imaging Plenary Session 6 - From haematuria to treatment decision making - A Plea for a ‘Super-Urgent’ Pathway. By P. Mariappan, Edinburgh (GB)
Session report: Biomarkers drive a new era in GU pathology
Experts in urological pathology explored the latest advances in biomarkers and precision medicine at the ESUP-ESUR Symposium. Discussions highlighted emerging diagnostic and prognostic tools in testicular tumours and renal cell carcinoma, alongside their clinical applications, limitations and potential to improve patient management.
