Research and Innovation
The EAU engages with EU funding channels, ensuring optimal impact for research in the field of urology, with a focus on research that demonstrates better outcomes for patients.
Context
In the context of the EU multi-annual budget (known as the multi-annual financial framework), the EAU works with multi-disciplinary health stakeholders and patient organisations to ensure sufficient dedicated EU funds for health research across the entire research pipeline, including implementation science and evidence based policy making.
We also tackle challenges of the unnecessary, burdensome bureaucracy in the conduct of clinical studies.
Topic leads: Peter Albers, Anders Bjartell
EAU co-leads the workstream on informed consent in a large alliance of medical and scientific organisations working together to make policy recommendations to alleviate the unnecessary bureaucracy of clinical trials.
The EAU is also an active member of the Biomed Alliance work on EU health research, dedicated to encouraging high levels of EU health research funding through efficient and appropriate funding mechanisms. [SC1] We are currently focussing on the plans for health funding the new EU multi-annual budget.
