My CSUR26 experience: Scientific excellence and warm Canadian hospitality
A significant milestone in my professional journey took place in Saskatoon in Saskatchewan, Canada, where I participated at the 19th Canadian Senior Urology Residents (CSUR26) Annual Scientific Retreat and the 81st Annual CUA Meeting in June 2026.
The retreat’s scientific content
The high-level scientific sessions and interactive case discussions at CSUR26 provided key insights into state-of-the-art urological practice. The programme covered a wide range of topics such as paediatric urology, key images in urology, and essential principles in genital trauma and reconstruction. I also gained practical knowledge on tips and tricks in robotic ureteric surgery, strategies for building a successful urology practice, and the work up and management of male infertility. Experts further shared their uro oncological perspectives on landmark prostate studies, case based urodynamics, and uro-radiology.
Building international relations
Supported by both the European Association of Urology (EAU) and the Canadian Urological Association (CUA), attending CSUR26 provided an exceptional platform for learning, collaboration, and networking. Building connections with international peers and exchanging clinical perspectives underscored the true value of global cooperation fostered by the EAU and CUA.
Beyond the academic excellence, the warm hospitality of our Canadian colleagues, as well as the opportunity to meet and spend time with two delegates from the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ), made the experience truly memorable.
Deeply grateful
Alongside my experiences at the European Urology Resident Education Programme (EUREP) and achieving the Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) status, this educational exchange has been pivotal role in shaping my career. I am deeply grateful to the EAU and CUA for organising an enriching programme and for their continued commitment to supporting young urologists worldwide.
