The Young Academic Urologists (YAU) declared Dr. Juan Gómez Rivas (ES) as its new Chair after online elections were held from 15 to 17 May 2020. About 78 YAU members viewed the candidates’ video presentations and received links where to cast their votes. Dr. Gómez Rivas succeeded Prof. Selçuk Silay (TR) and will serve a four-year term.
In his congratulatory video, Prof. Silay shared his parting words as YAU Chair to the members: “In YAU, no one is randomly selected. You are chosen because you deserve it, because you have the potential to become one of the future leaders of urology. I believe that many of you will become key opinion leaders. Thank you very much for the support you’ve given. Stay safe and I hope to see you all in person in the near future.”
